How To Make Sugar Cookies: Perfect Treat for the Holidays!

 


Sugar cookies are a timeless favorite that bring sweetness and joy to any occasion. 

Whether you're baking for the holidays, a special event, or just a cozy afternoon treat, this easy sugar cookie recipe is sure to delight!

 

Ingredients:

 - 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour

- 1 tsp baking soda

- 1/2 tsp baking powder

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

- 1 egg

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 3 tbsp milk

- Optional: colored sugar or sprinkles for decorating


Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.

3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and milk until fully combined.

5. Gradually add in the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.

6. Roll cookie dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. If desired, sprinkle with colored sugar or decorations before baking.

7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Avoid over baking to keep the cookies soft.

8. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet before serving!
